A Co-operative venture under the Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian parent churches this parish has a thriving congregation and children’s and youth programmes. It sits within the more Pentecostal/evangelical tradition and is developing a team ministry approach under the leadership of a senior pastor.

Ethos: Small, rural community with variety of views and denominational backgrounds; welcoming and friendly, but hard to be inconspicuous.
Ethnicity: Mainly NZ European with small Maori and Pacific representation. Very little Te Reo in worship.
Children: 10am and Church@5 services provide children’s activities; separate youth group on Friday nights.
Social: Morning tea after both morning services; occasional shared meal after Church@5. Annual church midwinter dinner; irregular events like walks, picnics, films.
Training: Alpha; Contagious Christianity; Journeys; and other development/evangelism courses. Strong lay involvement in leading of worship and pastoral work; team ministry being developed as complement to stipendiary ministry.
Outreach: Omokoroa Community Resource Centre, which offers library, toy library, internet access, crafts, workshops, drop-in and information centre, food-bank and counselling. Children’s holiday programmes; chaplaincy and midweek services in local rest-home.
Highlights: Carols by candlelight; Light Party; midwinter dinner.
