GUIDES/TUTORIALS FOR ONLINE WORSHIP - Resources for clergy

Here are some resources to help you implement/deliver online worship:

COMMUNICATIONS, PASTORAL CARE, and WORSHIP

COMMUNICATIONS
A reminder that the following channels will be used:

  • Emails to Vicars, Wardens and Administrators – this will be used especially for key announcements from Bishop Andrew or Vicar-General Jenny Chalmers or Registrar Colleen Kaye.  It will then be up to individual parishes to pass on the information.  In some cases, a general email to all clergy will also be sent.
  • E News alerts
  • Website updates (www.waiapu.com)
  • Anglican Diocese of Waiapu Facebook page – encourage people to ‘Like’ this page.

PASTORAL CARE
It’s really important to have ways of reaching out to people, especially those who might not be on email.  Telephone trees are useful here.  For those parishes who might need extra people to ring around, Anglican Care Waiapu has offered their staff.  To access this, contact Parish Projects Coordinator, Graeme Brock:  graeme.brock@acw.org.nz

WORSHIP
We encourage everyone in Waiapu to light a candle and pray at 7pm each Sunday.  We hope to include as part of this a Waiapu video message.  Details on this to come.  Another suggestion is that everyone pause at 10am and say the Lord’s Prayer, as a way of joining together with other people. The Waiapu Facebook page will also have some content, including resources on spiritual practices to do at home.  We realise that not everyone in our parishes is able to use online resources.  We are working on some paper-based resources, including for Holy Week and Easter.   Details on this to come.

Here are some links to online worship:

  • Every day - a short time with a Bible reading and prayer for family and a reflection on the day.  (Family Prayer from p187 ANZPB is an option.)
  • On Sunday - join online with some form of live worship
  • Once a week - a study style time when you “dig-in” and learn about something biblical or theological.  Share your reflections with a couple of people by email.

On your device:
Online lectionary with readings included (apple version - search your app store for others): ‎Lectionary on the App Store

For Children:
Strandz is the hub of Children + Families ministry in the Anglican Dioceses of New Zealand.  Strandz has some worship resources to support families, as they adjust to life in their ‘bubbles':

Messy Church - please contact Jocelyn Czerwonka -  jocelyn.czerwonka@waiapu.com - our Koru Ministry Leader for help with ‘Messy Church at Home’.  She is also happy to help with anything to do with childrens, family and youth ministry.

A Worship Pattern
We suggest that you create a worship shape to your week - have a particular place and time and light a candle when you start.
